1. Who We Are

e-TRNL Energy Private Limited ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our"), a company incorporated in India with its registered office at 12 Hosur Road, Electronic City Phase 1, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560100, India, operates the platform at etrnl-energy.com. e-TRNL Energy builds thermal intelligence software for EV and two-wheeler battery pack engineering teams: our core service processes cell-level electrochemical data and thermal fingerprints submitted by pack engineers in order to generate charge protocol recommendations, cycle life projections, and BMS design guidance. This notice explains how we handle personal information in connection with that service.

For questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected] or by post at the address above.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Account and contact data you submit when requesting early access or registering: name, company, engineering role, and professional email address.
  • Technical data you upload as part of using the platform: cell characterisation datasets, thermal profile readings, charge-discharge cycle data, and BMS configuration parameters. This data is submitted by engineering professionals and is technical in nature; it does not ordinarily contain consumer personal information.
  • Communication content from emails, contact-form submissions, and support interactions.
  • Usage and log data collected automatically: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, session timestamps, and similar technical signals used to operate and secure the platform.
  • Analytics data collected with your knowledge via cookies and local storage, as described in our Cookie Policy.

We do not use the technical cell data or thermal models you submit to train generalised machine-learning models for any purpose other than delivering your results, without your explicit written consent.

3. How We Use Your Information

We process personal information for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and improve the thermal intelligence platform and its outputs (charge protocol recommendations, cycle life projections).
  • To communicate with you about your early-access application, platform updates, and engineering partnership opportunities.
  • To respond to inquiries and support requests from battery pack engineering teams.
  • To maintain the security and integrity of the platform and its data.
  • To meet legal and regulatory obligations applicable to software services operating in India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
  • To send engineering-relevant updates and product communications where you have not objected.

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we process your personal data on the basis of:

  • Consent: where you have provided it (for example, analytics, marketing communications).
  • Legitimate uses as recognised by the DPDP Act, including provision of goods or services requested by you, and compliance with legal obligations.

You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us at the address below; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

5. Sharing of Information

We share personal information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers and processors acting on our behalf under written agreements that limit their use of data to what is necessary to deliver services to us (for example, cloud infrastructure providers, analytics tools).
  • Angel investors and board observers who have access to aggregate performance data in accordance with our investor agreements following our March 2026 funding round. No personal data of individual platform users is shared in investor reports without anonymisation.
  • Legal and regulatory authorities where disclosure is required by Indian law or a valid order from a competent authority.
  • Business transfers in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to the acquirer respecting this policy or providing equivalent protection.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy:

  • Account and contact data: for the duration of an active relationship, plus three years after the last interaction, for warranty and support purposes.
  • Technical cell and thermal data submitted to the platform: for the duration of the service engagement and for up to 12 months after, unless you request earlier deletion.
  • Log and usage data: up to 12 months, after which it is anonymised or deleted.
  • Communication records: up to five years, consistent with general limitation periods under Indian law.

7. Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights in respect of personal data we hold about you:

  • Right of access: to obtain a summary of the personal data we process about you and the processing activities involved.
  • Right to correction: to have inaccurate or incomplete personal data corrected or completed.
  • Right to erasure: to have your personal data erased where processing is no longer necessary for the original purpose or where you withdraw consent and no other legal basis applies.
  • Right to grievance redressal: to lodge a complaint with us; if unresolved, to approach the Data Protection Board of India established under the DPDP Act.
  • Right to nominate: to nominate another individual to exercise rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] with the subject line "Data Rights Request." We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law, and in any event within 30 days.

8. Security

We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data we process, including encrypted transmission of platform data, access controls on cell datasets and thermal models, and incident response procedures. No transmission over the internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee the security of data in transit to our servers.

9. Cookies

Our use of cookies and similar technologies is described in our Cookie Policy.

10. International Data Transfers

Our platform is operated from Bengaluru, India. We may engage cloud infrastructure providers whose servers are located outside India. Where personal data is transferred to other countries, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place consistent with the DPDP Act and applicable rules on cross-border data transfers.

11. Changes and Contact

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email where we hold a current address.
